Common questions.
What does Florida require for nursing homes?
Florida nursing homes must conduct an anonymous staff patient safety culture survey at least biennially. AHCA’s first nursing-home reporting window is June 1–August 31, 2027. Newly operational facilities have a separate first-reporting timing provision. Use AHCA’s current instructions to confirm your facility’s deadline.
Can a contracted vendor help?
Yes. AHCA permits third-party administration and does not require an approved-vendor list for the staff patient safety culture survey. Required submission support is included only when expressly stated in the engagement scope and the necessary authorization is in place.
Is this a resident or family satisfaction survey?
No. This service measures staff patient safety culture. Florida’s separate nursing-home consumer satisfaction program uses CoreQ-recognized vendors. That resident/family reporting program is not included in this service.
Do organizations outside Florida need this survey?
Organizations nationwide can use setting-appropriate staff surveys to understand safety culture and guide improvement. Requirements vary; there is no blanket nationwide mandate for every healthcare provider to complete this particular survey.
What if we already use another survey provider?
MDF can focus on interpretation, leadership discussion, and an implementation plan using appropriately shared results. You do not need to replace a functioning survey platform to get help with the next step.
